Medical research is getting increasingly expensive and complex. Technology has been slow to transform how we engage with patients. We believe that leveraging modern communication methods is essential in helping curb the rising cost of clinical development. Advances like the high adoption rate of smartphones and tools like Apple’s ResearchKit have us excited about the possibilities of modern patient engagement.

We manage clinical trials for our clients. We’re interested in startups with services that assist in two key areas: Outreach and enrollment of patients and communication, data collection, and streamlining of patient follow-up. The ideal applicants for this challenge would have services that integrate with existing healthcare records systems and enable the clinical trial staff to easily keep in touch with patients enrolled and participating in a trial, or startups with services that assist in identifying and recruiting patients who are eligible for enrolling trials. Applicants are responsible for maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations.
